We believe God can use this experience to reveal your next steps for life and for ministry. You will get hands on experience as you work under and alongside our Gateway Staff. You will have access to Gateway Leadership as you’re taught our values, our culture, and our “why’s” behind the way we do ministry. You will gain a ministry community to be connected to long after your experience has ended.
Our GME Team, your Ministry Oversight, and a Mentor will walk alongside you during this season to help you discover that next step toward your future.
You will have multiple opportunities to meet and learn from Gateway leadership and staff, in the office, the classroom and in home settings.
You will gain hands-on experience for ministry: learning Gateway’s structure, our systems, and be involved in ministering to people at Gateway Church.
Family means you are important to us. This is something we major on in the GME. You will meet amazing people from all over the world. You will have fun making memories and lasting relationships as you learn, grow, and serve together in ministry.
GME is not accredited; however, we have an articulation agreement with The King’s University. All of your GME classroom training, together with the ministry experience you gain during your semester of GME, can award you up to 14 college credit hours at The King’s University.
You will be partnered with an incredible man or woman of God that we respect and admire to walk through this residency with you. They will be praying for you and with you and asking you questions to help you process your experience.
This is an unpaid, educational residential program. The $1,400 fee that is required for participation will all be spent on you during your 16-week experience.
We want to equip you for your future, wherever that may be. The win for us is to help you take your Next Step in what God has in store for you in life and in ministry. This experience does allow us to see you up close over a period of time as you are involved and working. There is the possibility of employment at Gateway, but it isn’t something that can be promised.
The GME is for you if:
1. You are thinking about going into ministry one day.
2. You have served in ministry but find yourself in a season of transition
3. You are currently serving at a church and your church and you believe the Gateway Ministry Experience will be a great investment for you as a minister at your church.
4. You must be at least 21 years of age.
*You must have a high school degree or your GED.
You will be responsible for your own transportation and living expenses. If you are not local, we can try our best to help you find a host home or a temporary place to rent.
Your week will vary based on the schedule of ministry in your area for that week. You can expect 8-10 hours a week being trained and having our staff invest into your development. You will be serving in your experience about 20 hours a week, which includes Sunday services. Thursdays are our primary GME Day where we all come together from our different locations. Every other Monday night we have Family Hangs with Gateway Leadership. Fridays & Saturdays are off-days.
This area offers hands-on pastoral training that will help you care for those that come into your life. This is especially those who feel called to pastor people to love and to lead people.
This experience puts you primarily at one of our campuses and is designed to help you receive practical applications every pastor needs to love people.

Kids, Students &Young Adults, Guest Experience, Care, Discipleship & Groups
Do you feel called to lead people in Worship? You will get practical training and an inside look of how Gateway organizes and leads Worship. We will also help you grow as a musician as well.
*Those that apply for this area will be required to complete an online worship evaluation.
Examples include:
Vocals, Instrumentation, Songwriting, Organization, Team-Building
Do you consider yourself a creative? It may be in graphic design, writing, editing, filmmaking, content creation, or social media.
Working with a creative team will hone your gifts as you'll get plenty of opportunities to create and plan online experiences, work to develop content for ongoing teaching series, work within communications on design elements, or be involved with media for story development or editing commercials for weekend services and events.
